Special Needs Parent Support Committee
Burlington Parents of students with disabilities are invited
to join other parents monthly at a Special Needs Parent Support Committee
meeting. This Committee is a group of parents who have children with special
needs in the Burlington Schools. The Committee, along with the Director of
Special Services, meets regularly to:
1) strengthen connections and communication between parents
and the school district regarding special education services and supports for
students;
2) discuss programs and issues in general, not individual
student/child concerns, and
3) Connect with other parents for resource ideas and support.
The Special Needs Parent Support Committee meets monthly on
the second Monday night from 7-8:30 pm at the BSD district offices, Ira Allen
Building, 150 Colchester Ave., across from Fletcher Allen Hospital and next to
Trinity College.
We hope that you will join
us for informal conversation and support. Please feel free to bring a neighbor
or Burlington resident who has a child with special needs with you!
Periodically,
we need to cancel a meeting due to significant weather concerns. If this occurs,
we will post a sign, contact everyone on our sign in list and let the local
radio stations know. You may also call the Special Services Office, 864-8456 to
confirm the date of a meeting or to get on the Advisory Committee e-mail list.
