BSD is pleased to announce participation in the Chinese Cultural Exchange Camp from July 29-August 10th. This two-week program offers English language immersion for Chinese students and an amazing cultural education opportunity for students and families. To make this program possible, BSD must secure host families for approximately 32 Chinese students and four Chinese teachers. In addition, we are recruiting 6-10 Peer Ambassadors to assist students in the program.

More Information about Hosting:
Jennifer Haselman, site director and activities coordinator for the program, is ready to help interested parties. “Don’t have an extra bed? We can provide one! Have a previous engagement during the exchange? We can help find temporary housing while you are away! We are happy to accommodate any needs in order to make this program a success.”
The students are in school weekdays from 8-5:00. Transportation for students is generally a mix of host family drop off/pick up, walking, and Green Mountain Transit busing. Haselman said Host families that house two students for two weeks will receive a stipend of $200 per student to help with expenses. Those that house two students for one week will receive a stipend of $100 per student to help with expenses. (Stipends can also be declined and donated back to the program’s activity fund.)
“If this opportunity interests you even a little, please take that next step to ask any questions,” said Haselman. “You will be surprised how much of a difference this opportunity makes in the lives of the students and families with a simple exchange of culture, ideas, and friendship.”
